Goosebumps, great splits, and lemons

Driving to work today, I saw a woman walking on an overpass holding an American flag. On the way home, a group of people stood with flags on that same overpass. It gave me goosebumps. We will always remember.
The past few days have been pretty busy. I’m exhausted from my NC trip and a cute little girl who likes to party all night.

Monday’s run was nice and easy and the weather was gorgeous! 6.3 miles in 52:10 with an average pace of 8:12.

Tuesday I pumped some iron and took a body pump class. FYI I think strength training is really helping my running.

Today’s run was super challenging because of the pace and the fact that it feels like Guam outside. 5.12 miles in 38:44 with a 7:33 pace overall. 2 miles were sub 7! I cannot wait for fall weather to arrive this weekend.

You know how when someone you love is sad and disappointed and you can’t do anything to help? Yup, it stinks. My mom is the best and I would do anything for her.

When life gives you lemons, go get ice cream. We got it to go because Annabelle had a meltdown in the car. Thank goodness I had napkins, an extra bib, and a pair of her bloomers in the car…because the ice cream had a meltdown too.

  1. I stayed inside yesterday and did Pilates and treadmill. My throat has been raw since yesterday….perhaps today we can venture out. Your splits are looking great Linda!! Awesome job!!

  2. Hi there! Just found your blog through Hungry Runner Girl. I love your writing. Can I ask what app you are using to track your runs? I am a new runner and use the Nike one but if there’s a better one, I’m all for it!

    • Hi Michelle! Thanks for reading! HRG is great isn’t she? I use Map my Run and I love it. I just downloaded the Map My Run+ app for $ .99 because it has a built in camera feature. Try it and let me know how you like it!
