My heart hurts.

Today was not the best day. Have you ever read a story/saw something on the news (this particular story involved a baby) that physically hurt your heart and you could not stop thinking about it? Something that caused tears that you could not stop? I was there today and I was even fighting tears during body pump. Needless to say, I had a rough time getting it out of my mind.

I really wanted to leave work early and rush home to hug my baby girl, but I stayed at work and she was asleep when I finally got home…Third night in a row for this and I cannot wait for the weekend.

Ok, now for the normal nonsense… 🙂

Today’s workout: body pump and 15 minutes on the bike

Tonight’s dinner: Chick Fil A Salad and a cookie and Arctic Zero sundae

Please tell me something happy/fun/silly about your day!

  1. I had a tough week all around…an old friend of mine from highschool died last weekend he was 45 years old..sad…I feel your pain…things at work are nuts and the best thing all day was when a co-worker of mine came into work all happy saying spring was on the way…got a laugh out of that…have a great weekend…I hope to get outside!!!

  2. Something kind of funny happened yesterday. I work in law enforcement and someone “tried” to run from me (foot pursuit). They obviously didn’t know my background very well 🙂

  3. Sorry you had a bummer of a day. I put a funny pic/video on my blog for Friday. I bet that will make you smile! I hope you have a great weekend with your sweet girl!

  4. I went to my first Team In Training meeting yesterday and it was sad to hear the stories of those who have suffered but it was also motivating and in the end lots of fun. I am looking forward to running with my new family. Sometimes something sad can really lead to something positive. Have a great weekend.

    • That is so great that you are doing Team in Training! It seems like such a powerful experience. Good luck with your training and thank you for sharing. Have a great weekend. 🙂

  5. Its so sad some of the things that happen in this world. I think compassion and shared sadness is something that is so healing in those moments of despair~ One thing I have started to do is pray for the families that I hear about in the news. It also makes us so thankful for our own families and each day the moments we so often take for granted.

    • Hi Hannah. It really is difficult to understand how some people can do such terrible things. I definitely take comfort in knowing that the baby boy is safe now and can’t be hurt anymore. I definitely gave extra thanks for my blessings last night. Thanks so much for sharing and have a wonderful weekend.

  6. I know exactly what you mean! Once you become a parent things that wouldn’t have bothered you so much before now hit you quite deeply. I remember rewatching an episode of CSI after my son was born where the parents kill the baby because they think he has a disease that will give him a pain fulled short life only to discover he didn’t actually have the disease and they killed a healthy baby. Maybe it was part PP hormones but I was so shaken even when I had seen it several times before. And don’t even get me started on Sandy Hook. At least I know I am not the only one. Cheers.
