I’m on a plane.

Yesterday was a very long, but fun day…

– wake up at 4:20 for an early morning run…8 recovery miles at an 8:34 pace and a 3:00 minute plank

– egg, ham, and cheese bagel for breakfast

– 3 hours of work

– flight to Florida to visit my brother and his family!!!

Annabelle fell asleep while we were landing…look at that face. 🙂

– grilled chicken salads for dinner

– Koda and I decided it was bed time around 11.

BTW…it’s 66 degrees here right now. Home temperature is 23 degrees. Florida for the win. 🙂

When is the last time you were on a plane?

What’s the temperature where you live?

Cedar Point Weekend!

We had an awesome weekend at Cedar Point! It’s located along Lake Erie in Sandusky, OH and it is a blast.

CP goes all out for Halloween with decorations and haunted houses/walks.

This is our favorite ride…Millennium Force!

It was great to spend time with my brother and niece Kenzie who came up from Florida. 🙂

Here is a pic of my cousin Carrie, my mom, me, and Kenzie in front of the Top Thrill Dragster. Thanks so so much for the trip Mom!!

We spent 11 hours in the park on Saturday and we were all tired and chilly by the end of the night, but it was so much fun.

The weekend went by too fast, but I was happy to go home and see this cute little thing. What is better than a baby in a football jersey?

What did you do this weekend?

Ready to Experience…Raleigh, NC

Annabelle and I spent last weekend visiting my # 1 fans in Raleigh, NC. We had so much fun with Lauren and Rob and Shugie (Annabelle’s new nickname…I’ll explain later) loved all of the attention. She was so excited the whole time that she didn’t event want to sleep. :-/

Friday was a long day because I got to work at 6 am, Chris picked me up from work at 2:30, we went to the airport, and we were in the air by a little after 5.

Annabelle slept almost the entire plane ride, which was only about an hour. Don’t let her fool you, she was very excited to get there.

Friday night was spent hanging out, eating dinner, drinking wine, and eating ice cream. 🙂

Saturday morning started bright and early because that’s how Annabelle rolls.

Lauren made us breakfast of pancakes (plain and chocolate chip) and eggs. It may not look that great, but it tasted great. Any KD Rams still have that coffee mug?

We spent the rest of the day at the pool. All of the pools in Maryland and Pennsylvania close after Labor Day, but Raleigh held onto summer for one more weekend.

Annabelle just couldn’t handle all of the fun.

While she was napping, I took a trip down the water slide. Very flattering picture, thanks Rob.

Saturday night was another night of just hanging out. Yes, we are old and boring but that’s how I like it. 🙂

Sunday morning breakfast was Stuffed French Toast! We tried out some new flavors…pumpkin spice bread stuffed with a cream cheese and peanut butter mixture.

And sourdough bread stuffed with Jif’s Chocolate Peanut Butter whipped spread and blueberries.

We relaxed for a while after breakfast and me and Annabelle took a nap on the porch. A little while later, we took Mason for a walk and headed out to lunch.

We had lunch at the Nantucket Grill and I will just skip right to the good stuff. Cake the size of my daughter’s head! We tried the strawberry shortcake and the chocolate fudge.

Shortly after lunch, it was time to pack up and head home :-(. Mason helped to babysit while I did the packing.

Right before we left for the airport, Lauren and Shugie performed the song they had been working so hard on.  It’s about my love for huge bowls of ice cream…

Those two had a lot of fun together <3.
It was a really nice weekend and I’m so glad that I got to spend time with my BFF. With such a short and easy flight to Raleigh, we will be doing this more often.

Yesterday’s run was pretty awesome. I warmed up for about 2 miles and then went hard for 4 miles. Take a look at mile 5…6:59! That’s a first for me :-).

Running agenda for this weekend…long slow run.

Lunch was the Mayan Harvest Bake Kashi meal. It has sweet potatoes and plantains, so what’s not to like? I know this will come as a shock to you, but dinner was Subway! I bought a footlong and ate half for dinner and saved the rest for lunch today. I’m starting to feel like Jarred.

This afternoon, I am flying to North Carolina to visit my BFF Lauren! I haven’t seen her since March and I can’t wait to spend the weekend with her and her husband Rob. PS he is my number one fan. 🙂

Yup, this is me and Lauren in our Halloween costumes, probably about to go trick or treating, probably in high school… Just in case you were wondering, the cat was added at a later date.

Here is another old school picture for your Friday morning.

That’s me of course (great shot of Lauren in the background)…I had one of those jaw adjusters and if made a HUGE gap in my two front teeth. Needless to say, 7th grade was an awkward year. I’ll give you one guess as to what that strap hanging from my butt is…

So we are only going for the weekend, but packing for a baby is not easy! I brought everything I thought we would need and it looks like we are going on a week long trip.

The night concluded with compression socks, cookies, and a Ravens game slaughter. 😦

This work day should be super fun. I was only in bed for 5 hours and Annabelle was up 3 times. A large coffee is in my future.

Happy Friday!

What are your weekend plans?

Ocean City 2013: AB’s first beach trip!

Last week was awesome…fun in the sun, good food, naps, and spending time with my family. Here is a photo recap of our week!

Annabelle loved being on the beach and she took long naps all week :-). The water was a bit cold for her liking, but she tolerated it for a few minutes. We let her sit in the sand one day and it took about 2 seconds for her hands to go in the sand and then in her mouth.

Have you taken a summer vacation yet? Where did you go?

Best Birthday Ever.

Chris and Annabelle got me the best bday present ever…professional baby portraits. They turned out great and I can’t wait to finally decorate my office cubicle with lots of pictures. 🙂

Yesterday, I celebrated my 31st birthday. It was definitely my best birthday ever and it has a little something to do with this little girl.

We got up bright and early (after 4 hours of sleep) and headed to the beach! The traffic was pretty bad, so we made a stop for breakfast. I know this will surprise some of you, but we stopped at Cracker Barrel. 🙂 The highlight of breakfast…AB sat in a high hair for the first time!

Once we got settled in the condo we are renting, we headed to dinner. I enjoyed a margarita and a salad with chicken, black bean and corn salsa, tomato, avocado, cheese, and chipotle ranch dressing.

My awesome friends Matt and Kirstyn came down for the night and they hooked me up with this ice cream cake :-). I am so excited to have the leftovers tonight.

30 was a great year and I can’t wait to see what year 31 brings!

What is the best birthday present you have ever gotten?

Zooma Annapolis Half Marathon

On Friday evening, Chris and I drove down to Annapolis to spend the night. We stayed at the O’Callaghan’s Hotel and it was a short walk to the expo and the race start.

After we checked into the hotel, we headed to the expo to pick up my race “packet”.

Each participant was given this reusable bag with a pretty nice tech shirt inside. 🙂

Since it was going on 8 pm, I was more then ready for dinner. We ended up at the Ram’s Head Tavern…partly because Chris wanted to eat somewhere that was showing the O’s game. I ordered the plan Jane turkey burger and fries…I don’t normally eat fries but I figured I would run them off the next morning.

Once we got back to the room, I got everything ready for the next morning. I always lay everything out so that I’m not fumbling around in the dark in the morning.

If you look right above my bib, you will see a black belt that says ifitness on it. I scored this for free at the expo. It usually sells for $24, but the woman running the stand asked me to watch over everything while she used the restroom and she would give it to me for free. This made my night. 🙂

Race recap coming next!

Do you have special race outfits?
Do you ever buy things from the expos?
