Staying active has always been an important part of my life. I can’t really remember a time when I was not involved in some sort of physical activity. At this point in my life running takes the cake. I absolutely love it and I do not feel complete when I am unable to get out there and hit the pavement. Unfortunately, my body doesn’t like running as much as I do and I have been sidelined by a few pretty serious injuries (a groin pull, 2 major stress fractures, and a calf muscle tear). It seems that as soon as I get to my goal pace and distance, I end up injured and miss the race I was training for.
I have been back to running for about a year now (after having my daughter Annabelle) and things are going great! No injuries in a year, that’s a record for me! I finally found a pair of shoes that I LOVE (Brooks Pure Flow 2s) and I have been increasing my speed in the past few months. I am looking forward to my next race and I’m hoping for a BQ in May!
