On the running front, I had a pretty great summer, fall, and winter. ย ๐Ÿ™‚

August 2015

In August, I had the wonderful opportunity to run Ragnar Colorado. ย I had never been to Colorado and running 200 miles from Copper to Aspen with 11 amazing people = the best thing ever.

October 2015

Jeanette and I checked the Chicago Marathon off of the bucket list in October. ย We went with one goal…have fun and enjoy the race! ย We did just that and it was absolutely amazing.

September 2015

I ran the Via Marathon this past September and it was one of the worst races of my life. ย I wasย trying for a BQ (sub 3:35) and I ended up with a 4 hour plus finish. ย I had a much better race back in 2014.

October 2015

A fun little 5k pushing Annabelle in the jogging stroller. ย Running with the stroller and a heavy toddler is no joke.

November 2015

This was definitely the highlight of my running in 2015. ย I’m not sure how we did it, but my friends Woody, Pryce, and I completed our first 50 MILER. ย Yes, 50 miles! ย Woody and Pryce killed it and finished in the 10 hour range and I finished in 11 hours and 52 minutes. ย To be an official finisher, you had to finish in under 12 hours. ย I’m glad I gave myself a few minutes to spare. ย ๐Ÿ˜‰

February 2016

Kate and I ran the Disney Princess Half Marathon and had a magical time. ย This was Kate’s first half marathon and she did so great…and she loved it so much that she signed up for another one.

March 2016

I ran the HAT 50k and it was as fun and challenging as last year. ย This was my friend Wendy’s first 50k and she did such an amazing job.

A long, hot, steamy shower…

…is the only way I warm up after a cold winter run. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I didn’t head out until close to 2 pm today and I didn’t really have a plan or a set number of miles in mind. It was so warm out (read: 30 degrees) and perfect running weather. Well, almost perfect…we had some wind, but it wasn’t bad unless I was in the shade.

I started off with a little over a mile warmup and then headed to a hilly neighborhood to do some hill work. I did 6 hill repeats and it was TOUGH. PS I ran up each hill as fast as I could and then did an easy jog back down. I really wanted to do 10 hill repeats, but I only had the energy for 6.

I continued my run and ended up with 10 glorious miles. I even met a nice man walking his dog and we talked running and races. He suggested the Disney races and I think I’ll have to do the Dopey Challenge next year. ๐Ÿ™‚

After a long hot shower, I downed a salad and pizza. I will def eat some dessert later.
Baby Update: Annabelle went to bed at 8:30 and only cried for 10 MINUTES! She was asleep by 8:45 and slept until 7:30. It was a miracle!!!! Day 3 of no bottle has also been a success. She even ate 3 decent meals today. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m a happy mama.
