A really good run and a really good Apple.

Happy Friday! This has been one busy week and I am so glad the weekend is here. I am happy to report that Annabelle is behaving like an angel (well, mostly) and now asks for her cup instead of a bottle. She also falls asleep after crying for only a few minutes and sleeps all night. This makes for a happy baby in the morning. #winning

I don’t know if it was my pancake and chicken maple sausage breakfast or my new running tights, but today’s run felt great. I set out to do at least 6 and had to fight the cold wind the whole time, but I ended with 8.10 miles. My route was pretty hilly, so I was happy to get in a few miles in the low 8’s. It just felt good to run today.

After refueling with a sweet potato topped with black beans, cheese, and avocado, I had an apple (and this was a GOOD apple) with peanut butter. I’ve been eating almond butter lately and I must say, it was good to eat some old fashioned peanut butter.

I also spent some time listening to the Serial podcast. Have you guys heard of this? I read a number of other bloggers talk about it, so I decided to listen. I had no idea the story takes place right where I work.

The rest of the evening was spent taking selfies and eating pizza.

Now it’s time to watch Shark Tank and eat some cake and ice cream! We are still celebrating AB’s birthday. 🙂

Have a great Friday night!

Do you watch Shark Tank? If so, who is your favorite shark?

Robert!

I’m a marathon runner…Annabelle is a marathon cryer.

Hey guys! Thanks for all of your comments and encouragement on my last post. 🙂 Here’s how the first two days have gone…

Day 1

– We took away the bottle and only gave her milk in a sippy cup. (She’s been drinking water out of a sippy cup for a long time, but was hooked on the milk/bottle combo).

Back in her glory days.

2015/01/img_6105.jpg
– She asked for her “bobble” pretty often, but I showed her that her cup was way cooler and she would forget about it for a while…until the next time she asked for it.

– She ate more dinner because she wasn’t so full on milk.

– She went to bed at her normal time without too much difficulty.

– She woke up at 10 and continued to cry for a very, very long time. We went in a few times to console her, but she got upset every time we put her back in her crib. She finally gave up and went to sleep at 1:30 am and slept until 9. She woke up very happy and did not seem to hate us for it. 🙂

Day 2

– Happy baby!

– She was well behaved at breakfast and she ate a bunch of pancakes.

2015/01/img_6846.jpg
– She still asked for her bottle, but she started asking for her cup by the end of the day.

– She cried when I put her to bed, but she only cried for 10 minutes. Hallelujah! Fingers crossed that she sleeps all night!

I must say, I’m very surprised at how well she is doing. Her behavior was even better today…maybe because she got a good night of sleep in her crib all night (after lots of crying :-()and ate more food instead of milk? I don’t know, but it was awesome. My only concern is that she isn’t drinking very much milk now. How much should she be drinking?

What else did we do today?

– went out to breakfast
– went to Target
– my friends Matt and Kirstyn and their adorable baby came over this afternoon…we ate and watched the Ravens game (sigh) and then this happened. She has been my dessert soul sister since 2004.

Today was a rest/eat too much day, so I can’t wait for a long run tomorrow!

What is on your agenda for tomorrow?

Best part about your day today?

PS The wordpress app changed and I can’t figure out the bold and italic settings. Therefore, please forgive the don’t randomness going on.

A fridge full of candy and my toddler is OUT OF CONTROL.

Happy Friday! I don’t know about you guys, but I could really use a glass of wine and a pint of Ben and Jerry’s.

It’s a list kind of day…

1. I’m actually SUPER busy at work and I am not used to such things! Things should slow down once January is over…I hope.

2. Our refrigerator doesn’t have much in it, but we have enough Christmas candy to get us through the zombie apocalypse.

3. I ran with Jeanette yesterday! She had an accident and has been recovering for a month. It was so great to enjoy a (treadmill) run with her.

I ran 6 miles and it was a tough one.

Mile 1 9:13-8:35 pace
Mile 2 8:00 pace
Mile 3 7:47 pace
Mile 4 7:41 pace
Mile 5 7:35 pace
Mile 6 8:35 pace

4. We discovered an indoor play place close to our house. We will be spending the entire winter here because Annabelle loved it and it tired her out.

5. Speaking of Annabelle…wow, this week has been a struggle. She will be 2 on Tuesday (I still can’t believe it.) and she is in a very difficult stage. I blame us for some things that we didn’t end before they started, but we def have a few rough weeks ahead as we try to change some behaviors. Parenting is hard, very rewarding, but hard.

She fell asleep leaning against the window yesterday afternoon. 🙂

6. She still loves selfies.

7. Working from home = Chris brings me breakfast. 🙂

2015/01/img_6834.jpg
8. Go Ravens! I can’t wait for tomorrow!

2015/01/img_6785.jpg
9. I want to go to dinner and a movie. I haven’t been to a movie since last November (like November 2013). A date night is much needed.

10. I miss them.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how has your week been?

Moms…any encouraging words would be great. This toddler stage is tough!
