Weekend Snapshots!

Hi everybody! I hope you all had a great weekend! Here are some pictures from my weekend adventures. 🙂

I ate good food, went on an 8 mile stroller run with AB, and spent some quality time on the playground. (Not pictured: brownies and ice cream, but yes, it happened).

What was the best part of your weekend?

“What’s that smell?”

Today’s workout was an intense, sweaty, kick butt class called “Kick It”. The instructor Sean is nuts, but he knows how to teach a good class. This class is a kick boxing class that involves a lot of punching, lunging, high knees, and a killer ab workout at the end. Since this class starts at 12:20 pm, I think about my lunch 100% of the time. 🙂

Today’s lunch was half of a leftover chicken breast with a tiny portion of Mac and cheese (Dora the Explorer :-)) and a zucchini soufflé.

This is made with zucchini and egg whites and I really liked it. The consistency was a little…umm, soft…but the flavor was really good. A few hours later I started smelling something unpleasant, like a BO smell. I kept smelling myself to check that it wasn’t me (and it wasn’t), so I figured somebody was heating something in the microwave. When I got up to use the bathroom, I noticed that the smell was only in my cube. My coworker Kelly verified that the stench was from my cube. Apparently the zucchini soufflé remnants do not smell good after a few hours. :-/

Fast forward through the afternoon and I left work to pick up Annabelle. Our friend Jocelyn (thanks Jocelyn!) watched AB for a little while and she was so worn out that she fell asleep sitting up!

After a trip to the playground we ate chicken salad sandwiches with broccoli salad and grapes on the side. If you have never had a pretzel roll, you are missing out.

Lots of running for me this weekend! I need to fit in a tempo run and a 20-miler. Who wants to join me? 🙂

What was your workout today?

Does your office have that person who always cooks something smelly? I guess I was that person today…but it used to be my friend Matt.

19 incredible months!

Yup, Annabelle is now 19 months old! How in the world did she get so old so fast?!?!?

We celebrated her 19 months of life with a trip to the playground. It was a gorgeous night with low humidity and a nice breeze. Our weather has been crazy this summer…it def doesn’t feel like August.

AB prefers to slide down on her stomach and she has no fear. She will go for any slide, no matter how steep.

Favorite Things:

Sesame Street! She loves to watch Sesame Street and her favorite toys and books are Sesame Street. I think we need to take a trip to Sesame Place. 🙂

Running, climbing on the couch, making a mess, etc. She is always on the move and rarely sits still!

Favorite Foods:

Goldfish…all day everyday.

Fruit…blueberries, grapes, strawberries.

Veggies…cucumbers. She eats any veggie puréed, but doesn’t like them in regular form just yet. :-/

Chicken nuggets and Grilled cheese…when she is in the mood

Moms, when did your little one really start talking?

Any tips to get kids to eat veggies?

Getting back on track and she is fearless.

I ate ALOT during marathon training. I was also running ALOT. Now that my workouts are scaled back and I’m not running nearly as much (but having fun doing other things), I really need to get my nutrition back on track. Operation “do not eat ice cream every single night” begins now. 🙂

Yesterday, I worked from home (which is glorious) and headed to the gym during my lunch break.

My workout:

20 minutes elliptical: I varied my speed and intensity throughout and moved between levels 10 and 15. I picked up the pace at the end and did 30 seconds fast alternated with 30 seconds slow.

I changed a few things and did squats and shoulder work in place of the lunges (my knee doesn’t like lunges right now), but I loved this workout as it was quick and got the job done.

I finished off the afternoon with lunch and more work.

Omlette (2 whole eggs and 2 egg whites, kale, and cheese) with a side of strawberries

Once my workday was complete, my Dad, Annabelle, and I headed to the trail for a walk and some playground time. She is fearless on those slides (very scary for mommy!!!).

It was a great end to the day and she was so ready for bed once the sun went down. 🙂
